generic battery By Avid Reader This battery for our Garmin came quickly. We necessitated to download instructions from the Garmin website for installation and get one $6 tool from the hardware store to install it, but all else was fine.

Works like new By john After a full charge with the new battery, my Nuvi 660 holds a charge like new. Just do a search and follow directions on Youtube showing how to disassemble the Nuvi and replace the battery. Installation is easy for anywone who is a little bit handy. You will need a special little torx (size T5) screwdriver, which is regarding $3 elsewhere on Amazon in a kit with plastic pry tools that are rather helpful for the task. The $17.13 for the battery + shipping was well worth the crusade to extend the life of a GPS that cost $540 in 2007.

Garmin Nuvi 6XX battery replacement By H. Ellingsen I’ll make this sweet and short. The substitute battery purchased is an adequate replacement. Installation is not difficult, but not knowing how much pressure it took to seperate the Garmin case was disarming. Splitting the case was the most difficult task. The only item missing from a 100% OEM replacement, was the absence of the double back tape found on the introductory battery. Having tape to hold the substitute battery in place for the duration of case reassembly would have helped. Other than the lack of tape on the battery, the new battery performs well and has restored the battery life gone from the 5 yr old OEM battery. One last thing, if you don’t have a set of “small” case opening tools, it would be a good idea to buy one of the sets found related with these battery substitute products.
