If you plan on attending Europe in the near future and you live in the United States, it’s going to be primary that you look for a plug adapter that’s going to work with your equipment. Since Europe works on a dissimilar power grid than the United States, a lot of your items such as a laptop, iPod, and more aren’t going to work.
Instead of going out and paying $25 for one in the airport, you may pick one up online for less than $5! I wanted to make sure that you know what you’re looking for before you buy one though.
First, make sure that you’re going to be competent to use it in the country that you’re going to. For example, if you’re going to the Middle East, check the description, and see if it’s going to work.
Next, make sure that you look at the voltage. How much are you going to want to hook up? The adapters are only commended for one item generally. If you hook up more than one item, you may find that it could short out your laptop, causing a lot of damage, which is never good!
Last, don’t be cheap. You don’t want to buy something that’s only $3. You’re going to get what you recompense for. Get something with outstanding reviews to see to it that you’re getting something of quality.

 Buy with caution

I purchased a 10-pack of these adapters and for the most part, they work well. One word of caution, the adapters are rectangular in shape. In Luxembourg where I live, there are for the most part round-shaped outlets and these work fine in that type of outlet. However, a great deal of outlets are rectangular-shaped and beveled on the ends rather of straight. I suspect that this is the case in a good deal of European countries (not just Luxembourg).

Round, grounded adapters are better.

Instead of these, I commend round grounded adapters for US 3-prong as well as 2-prong plugs. Why? Because they have a better, more snug fit on both sides. They fit more snuggly in the Euro/Schuko socket. These flat 2-prong adapters in my experience tend to have a looser connection or even fall out of the socket – esp. if yours is a heavy cable or if it has one of those AD/DC converters at the plug end pulling down on the adapter.
